TRIP TO SANTA FE
A most “Unlikely Christmas Party” of travelers escaping Christmas at home makes a road trip from Chicago to Colorado, stopping to enjoy a side-trip to Santa Fe. By day, the travelers enjoy the culturally-rich city of Santa Fe with its mysticism linked to the Indian culture, its art, architecture and food, and its magical Christmas traditions. Their evenings are hosted by Maude and Silas Thornhill, owners of Grey Sage Inn. Intimate conversations around the dinner table and fireplace unlock the pasts of these travelers.
A CHANGE OF PLANS
But it is an unusual snow storm that changes their Christmas plans. Although Grey Sage is a sprawling, spacious structure which takes advantage of the rugged terrain and breathtaking scenery, it becomes close quarters as these stranded, stressed strangers finally settle into a different kind of Christmas, not the one they expected. Maude, the innkeeper, realizes that celebrating is a matter of the heart and a choice. She determines that if the rooms are full at Grey Sage during this season, then she will do her best to fill Grey Sage and the lives of her unexpected guests with Christmas. Tension and fear mount as the weather worsens and Silas, a retired doctor, is called away in the middle of the night to care for a seriously-injured neighbor.
CHRISTMAS RETURNS TO GREY SAGE
In spite of a fierce storm and the chilling cold, the warmth of Christmas brings a renewed hope as these strangers become friends- proof again that the joy, hope, peace, and love of Christmas can be experienced no matter where you are.
